Facebook Tops Content Sharing Via AddThis

ia tr
AddThis has released an infographic insight which reveals that Facebook accounts for 44 percent of all sharing volume, while it was 33 percent in the previous year.

The use of social media content sharing services like Addthis and Shareholic has grown over the last few years, as users increasingly use these services  to share " something they like" to their friends and social circles.

The data also shows that, although Facebook has the maximum share, Gmail is growing at a growth rate of over 394 percent... what that means is that users  frequently emails "content" across to their social circles. Orkut, is also growing at over 212 percent. As reported in my blog post earlier, the growth rate of social-bookmarking site, StumbleUpon, has seen a massive 254 percent growth.

MySpace and Friendster were the major losers  and has  recently seen their marketshare shrink by  20 percent and 31 percent, respectively. Facebook's growth of 163 percent. does not include the number of shares using the Facebook “Share” and “Like” buttons.
