10 Million and Counting..Samsung Galaxy II a Runaway Success

Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S II smartphone (model: GT-I9100) has achieved 10 million global channel sales, doubling from five million in just eight weeks. In the last 8 weeks, sales have gone from 5 million to 10 million - or 625,000 units sold per week. And here's the real kicker: the press release expressly states "Model: GT-I9100," meaning these sales figures don't even include the United States.

Galaxy S II i9100 achieved 10 million sales worldwide since its launch (late April this year).

Secondly, Samsung has presented the Galaxy S II HD LTE (pictured below), a bigger version of the Galaxy S II LTE announced about a month ago in Europe

The new Galaxy S II HD LTE has an HD display,  with  a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels – just like the Galaxy Note, the difference being that the Galaxy S II HD LTE’s display measures 4.65 inches, not 5.3 inches.

Samsung Galaxy S II  is an Android 2.3-based smartphone that was announced by Samsung on February 13, 2011 at the Mobile World Congress. The Galaxy S II is Samsung’s flagship smartphone that is only 8.49mm thin. It features  dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 system-on-chip as well as ARM Mali-400 graphics engine. The product sports 4.27" Super AMOLED+ screen with 800*480 resolution. The device became available worldwide starting from May 2011 and is sold  by more than 140 vendors in 120 countries.
