Geo Location Advertising Goes Mainstream

 




Nearly 95 percent of national advertising campaigns in the United States last year used some form of location targeting according to a xAD survey released on March 7.

Dependence on mobile location targeting increased so much in 2012 that firms decreased their use of traditional methods such as targeting based as zip code and city information, with just 13 percent of campaigns utilizing these methods by the end of the 2012 compared to 64 percent at the start of the year.

he study also revealed the top business searches via mobile in 2012 were for restaurants, gas stations, hotels and similar organizations. .
