ChaCha stands Tall powered by $14million venture Funding ,




Largely QA ( question and answer sites) have not been successful till date,and  has largely failed to live up to that promise. Although there are a number of players who are battling out , there will be very few Winners.
However one exception is Chacha.com, which has been growing and getting funding from PE Institutional investors  as well ecently  announced a new $14 million investment round

Through its unique “ask-a-smart-friend” platform, ChaCha has answered over one billion questions since launch from more than 32 million unique users per month, and is ranked among comScore’s top 100 websites.

ChaCha delivers human-powered answers via (chacha.com), SMS text (242-242), iPhone app, Android app, and voice (1-800-2-ChaCha). Working with major brands such as Paramount, NBC Universal Digital, AT&T, Palm, Johnson & Johnson, P&G, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, and presidential political campaigns, ChaCha.com is one of the fastest growing mobile and online publishers according to Nielsen and Quantcast.
ChaCha began in 2006 as a form of “assisted search.” It later migrated into mobile, using SMS as the primary tool to ask and answer questions. Then it expanded to the mobile web and smartphone apps. Today, roughly 70 percent of questions and answers are coming via mobile according to founder and CEO Scott Jones.
