Is Facebook Hurtling Towards its End

Facebook’s share price is at $23.15 which seems like a million miles away from the starting price of $45.  The biggest social network boosting more than 908m users and 5th of the time people spend on the internet. Even though Facebook is the largest by a long way it’s losing users to Twitter and Google+. Facebook hasn’t thought of anything innovation for their website since the launch of timeline so people will start to get bored and move if they aren’t any changes to this.

Last Orkut Bastion Falls, as Latin Americans embrace Facebook

India and Brazil were the final frontiers for Facebook a couple of years ago . While India fell to Facebook's charm and were quick to ditch Google's Orkut in June,2010.. The Brazilian market .. after years of holding on to Orkut has finally succumbed to Facebook's charms after 2 years, in 2012. The above data chart by comscore shows the top 25  Latin American Countries spent on social networking sites.

When looking at the share of time spent on social networks, Europe accounted for 38.1 percent of all social networking minutes, followed by North America where 21.4 percent of all social networking minutes emerged. Although AsiaPacific is home to the largest social networking population by visitors, the region accounted for just 16.5percent of all social networking minutes, while Latin America accounted for 12.8 percent of all social networking minutes globally.

Social networking is not only big in Latin America, itis growing -- with the audience climbing 16 percent from the previous year.

recent  comScore, report published in  Oct,2011 shows that Facebook added nearly 24 million new users in the country passing incumbent Orkut in December to reach 36.1 million monthly uniques.

The Google-owned social network isn’t seeing any drop-off, though, in contrast to US incumbent MySpace’s fate – and in contrast to India, Orkut’s other big market that was lost to Facebook years ago. Instead, Orkut just grew slowly from 32.7 million to 34.4 million in Brazil during the year.
