US Mobile Ad SpendsTo Outgrow Social media Spends by 100% to Reach $12 billion


Forrester Forecasts that 2012 will see, spend on mobile paid advertising and search surpasses email and social and will rocket at a38% CAGR to $8.2 billion by 2016
Forrester also predicts that Tablets — along with their expensive ad units — will become mainstream. 2012 will see tablets contribute to mobile marketing investment due to their rapid adoption, and using  innovative — and expensive — ad formats which  they enable.16 For example,Livestand, Yahoo’s digital newsstand for tablets, allows advertisers to interact with users throughrich, customized, immersive content experiences

Search willcontinue as the largest piece of the interactive marketing pie, growing to more than $33 billionover the next five years according to Forrester Research data

However search marketing  spends is expected to decline  from 55% today to 44% of allinteractive spend in 2016 as marketers refocus their search marketing strategies on “getting found”by users through any medium — not just search engines
