Samsung's 30% growth in Q2,2012 makes it the Global Leader with 22%

Gartner's recent report on global marketshare for Mobile Devices  Worldwide 2Q12  show that t Samsung maintained its spot as the leader of mobile phone sales globally and its  market share increased from 16.3% in Q2 2011 to 21.6% during the Q2,2012 .

And this growth was apparently at the expense of the Nokia, which slipped from a 22.8% market share during the second quarter of last year to a 19.9% share during Q2,2012 The third placed was Apple  with 6.9% share, up from 4.6%), ZTE (4.3%, up from 3.0%) and LG (3.4%, down from 5.7%). Consumer demand for iPhone weakened as dropping 12.6 percent from  Q1,2012. However, the iPhone sales increased 47.4 per cent year-on-year.

Among Mobile OS, Android continues to reign supreme with 64% marketshare in Q2,2012 with a 50% rise from Q1,2012

Samsung ends Nokia's Domination in Indian Market,loses 20% in 5 months

There was Nokia loosing its battle in the developed world. for the last two years, But Indian marketplace was ruled by Nokia since the  advent of Mobile Industry in India since 1996.Nokia's marketshare had collapsed   across all its leading markets.. with the exception of India.. However Q1,2012 saw Samsung which overtook Nokia in Q3,Q4 2011 ended what was nokia's last frontier . and a market which Nokia owned leadership position for the last decade and a half

Samsung's success reflects a shift in the wireless market, where cellphone market growth is being generated exclusively by the smartphone segment, and not by feature phones and other low-cost entry phones, According to  iSuppli ( Research Group). Smartphones accounted for 34 percent of Samsung's handset shipments in the first quarter, in contrast to 14 percent of Nokia's shipments.

Globally iSuppli estimates " Samsung shipped 92 million handsets to 83 million by Nokia, and 35 million by Apple in the first quarter,of 2012

Strategy Analytics, in contrast, said Samsung shipped 44.5 million smartphones in the first quarter for a 30.6 percent share, while Apple shipped 35 million units for a 24.1 percent share. Nokia had a 8.2 percent share.
