According to recent data from InMobile on global media consumption,Mobile takes up a significant share of media time across markets and has surpassed time spent online in many markets.globally 26% of media share comes from Mobile( SMS or Voice calls).22% comes from online usage from desktop or laptop.22% media usage comes from TV.9% comes from tablet and 12% from radio and 8% from print media 


India and Japan leads mobile media usage with 28%, while . 34% Chinese users goes online usage via laptop or desktop while 25% users from singapore do likewise .

The above data show how VC investment and PE investment has changed over the years across media and entertainment industries .In 2014, Venture Capital Investments in Media and Entertainment was 5.75B US dollars. Upward Trend Over the last five years, the series saw an upward trend culminating at 5.75B US dollars at it's most recent reporting value (December 31, 2014). This puts the series up 3383.58% from 2010.

The latest Deloitte survey on  the growth of office space real estate in London shows that corporations continue to invest on real estate office space in a big way.
  1. The latest estimates show that   London office space construction is up by 24% in the last 6 months  with more than 9.5million square feet of prime office rental space under construction
  2. Office space real estate  in London increased by 6.3million sq feet in 2014 a ten year high since 2005
  3. 50% of real estate office space boom in London is led by the TMT industry Technology, Media and Telecommunications industry

In 2012, Tech, media and telco made up 12% of real estate occupancy in London for the first three quarters

Search spends slows down by 5% while , Mobile spends grew by  8% .


1)Meanwhile banners  ads  ranks no  3 in terms of digital spending share but it declined by 3% ( 16% in 2014 vs 19% in 2013 )

2)Last year saw  unprecedented spends on mobile as spends grew by   8%  in 2014  and formed  25% of digital ad spends in contrast to  17% in 2013.Mobile ranks number 2 in overall brands spends across the online media

3)Search  spends  has been impacted  last year  as ad dollars started shifting  to mobile  as search spends declined 5%. Although search marketing ranks no 1 in digital spending  for both 2013 and 2014 , its share has come down to  38% in 2014 as compared to 43% in 2013

4)Online video ranks number 4 in terms of spends with a share of 7% allocated to it ( no change

A majority of Americans, 55%, say they are spending more than they did last year on groceries, the area in which Americans continually report spending more.

Groceries (55% spending more), utilities (45%) and healthcare (43%) are among  the 3 categories in which the largest percentage of survey respondents have increased their spending compared to a year ago, according to Gallup.
Since last June, the top three categories with the highest percentages of consumers saying they are "spending more" (groceries, utilities and healthcare) have stayed in the top five

Meanwhile, the bottom categories in terms of increased spending are retirement investments (17%), consumer electronics (18%) and travel (19%), suggesting, per Gallup, that “Americans continue to spend more on things they need, but not on things they want.”

However most of them are multiple platform users, and multitaskers . Among the emerging electronic devices gaining traction US was Live TV and Timeshifted TV

The report takes into account consumer spending on internet access, media and entertainment as well as on- and offline advertising spending. Based on the ranking of these parameters New York, Tokyo and London tops as global media capital followed by Seol ,Hong Kong and Los Angeles.Further PwC predicts New York’s Entertainment & media sector to grow at an average annual rate of 4.5% between 2013 and 2018 among the highest across the world

But among paid media, TV still commands the broadest degree of influence, cited by almost two-thirds of respondents.

How much media  does an average chinese  consume in a day.?What percentage of media is consumed by TV, print and radio vs digital ? (online , mobile and tablets) This data by Inmobi "chinese mobile consumption study" shows that an average chinese total media hours in a day is almost 7 hours (about  6.9hoursday). And out of this digital ,mobile and tablet usage comes to 50% of their total consumption. TV and radio together makes up 150mins of  their time.

These regions are followed by Asia Pacific which ranks no 2 with approx 24% spends across the digital media  in 2015.Eastern Europe and  Latin America  with 21% and 13.4% spends across online  ranks 3rd and 4th respectively

Chinese users spends 50% of the total media consumption time on internet access from mobile and web. Chinese users spend 140 minutes online and a further 111 minutes spent on  mobile out of a  total 6.9 hours of media time .According to a Q1 ,2015 report on mobile consumption trends in china,Inmobi reports that Entertainment and  games forms 43% of most activities done on mobile . In china digital  advertising is a big influencing factor  as compared with TV and other media advertisements and outstrips any other media with a ratio of 3:1 .

South Korea  digital spending  is set to be the biggest  in the Asia Pacific nations with almost 40% of total media being allocated to digital in 2016,Out of the total digital spends, mobile is expected to form  23% .Australia's digital spending  will grow  7% to reach 40%  of overall digital spending  by 2016 Meanwhile  China’s share of digital ad spending in  expected to rise to 27%  by 2016. Japan's media spends on Digital and mobile is almost identical, with 24% on digital and  21.3% on mobile .

Indonesia and India's digital spending share will touch 12% and 16.3% respectively, with mobile  spends out of the digital  share is expected to account 4.5% and 12.1% respectively
