With 57million Smartphones sold in Q3 2012, Samsung enters record books

Samsung & Apple continue smartphone market dominance  as shipments of smartphones grew 35% annually to reach nearly 162 million units in the third quarter of 2012, according to new data from research firm Strategy Analytics.

Samsung was the undisputed leader and  ranked no 1  in  Smartphone sales with  as its smartphone shipments exceeding  a  global record record  of  shipping  56.9 million smartphones worldwide during the Q3,2012 which is the largest number of units ever shipped by a smartphone vendor in a single quarter

In Q3,2012  Samsung's Smartphones   had 35% global marketshare .Ranked no 2 was Apple's iphones  which sold 26.9 million smartphones worldwide  with a 17% market share in 2012.Overall Samsung sold twice the number of smartphones  sold by Apple
Apple grew  57% annually in 2012 and shipped 26.9 million smartphones worldwide for 17 percent Marketshare, up from 14 percent recorded a year earlier in 2011.

Samsung Galaxy Note Features and Performance

Samsung Electronics, the world's top technology firm by revenue, will report strong first-quarter profit of around $4.5 billion on Friday on soaring sales of its flagship Galaxy smartphones and the new Note, a mini-tablet and phone.
Samsung introduced the Galaxy Note, a mini-tablet and phone with a screen half the size of the iPad, in late October, and the top-end model has quickly become its core profit earner.
Sales of the Note, which has revived the throwback stylus function, have topped 5 million, increasing the competition against Apple Inc and smartphone strugglers HTC , Nokia and Research in Motion.

Recent reports confirm that Samsung has sold over sold 2 million Galaxy Note,worldwide amidst a booming tablet device in 2012..The Galaxy Note was announced by Samsung during IFA 2011 in Berlin. It was released to the public starting with Germany in late October 2011, with other countries following shortly after that. By the end of November, it was available in most major markets, including East Asia, Europe and India.

Samsung, which raced to the top of the global smartphone rankings last year with close to a fifth of the market, from just 3 percent in 2009, should consolidate its position with more product launches, including a revamped Galaxy S, over the next few months.
