While  UK is the undisputed no  nation in terms of being the highest spender on digital medium .Its use of mobile  is growing at an astonishing rate   that even digital media which is more  established .Brands both mid size and enterprise are moving their ad budgets into digital and  the use of the channel is rising fast. According to a new eMarketer report, “UK Mobile Ad Trends: Mobile Matures, Yet Growing Pains Persist,” UK mobile ad spending is expected to almost quadruple to £3.58 billion ($5.68 billion) by 2017.

 This chart by Comscore shows the mobile user engagement in UK. Over 72% of the 47 million large UK digital audience access the internet via more than one device, across desktop/smartphone or desktop/tablet. Mobile has also now become more engaging than desktop, accounting for 56% of all time spent on the internet.

UK  becomes the first nation to have digital ad spends equaling traditional spends ,this year in 2015
 where half of all advertising spend goes on digital media. Just over £16.2bn will be spent on all forms of advertising in the UK this year, including TV, newspapers, billboards, radio, online and on mobiles and tablets, according to eMarketer.

Hot in pursuit would be Scandinavian nations including Norway, Sweden and Denmark, followed by China  from  close  behind, with digital grabbing a 45.0% and 43.6% share, respectively, of ad spending in each country.

 However, until China takes over  the UK  can literally sit on its lead  till 2018. Meanwhile UK media spends is estimated to grow by 6.0% in 2015 to top £16.26 billion ($26.78 billion), with this being split equally between digital and all other traditional formats combined—TV, print, outdoor and radio.

The UK will this year become the first country in the world where half of all advertising spend goes on digital media. Just over £16.2bn will be spent on all forms of advertising in the UK this year, including TV, newspapers, billboards, radio, online and on mobiles and tablets, according to eMarketer. Digital advertising is expected to grow by 12% this year to £8.1bn, making the UK the first country in which £1 in every £2 will go on digital media.

According to IMRG Capgemini  UK  -Retail Sales Index report,  UK  users  splurged more than   100billion  Pounds  in online shopping last year.A total of  £104bn was spent online in 2014, the first time annual spending in UK  has exceeded the £100bn barrier.

Scandinavian Countries of  Norway  and Denmark lead mobile internet usage in Europe with 72% and , 69% respectively. Netherlands with 66% of its population  on the mobile web.With 64%  Sweden is no 4  . As  of 2015, UK has 59% hooked to online web. Italy is ranked the last among west  europe with just 51% using the mobile web ( emarketer)

This finding will only re-establish what most  Americans already knew about themselves  and the truth about their annual vacations.

A recent survey by  travel aggregator site TripAdvisor shows that when it comes to taking vacations or holidays , an average American struggles not to work or keep in touch with their  bosses.

While  77% employed U.S. respondents admitted they had worked on vacation over the past year compared to just 40 percent in the other nations polled - Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, Spain and the UK

The numbers  are an indication in themselves why we are one of the most over worked, overstressed nation with the lowest amount of vacation time.  Not to be outdone modern technology and our prized gadgets  have  reduced us into a virtual reality transponders  where irrespective where you might be found physically, we are just  one click away from out office spaces. Clearly we are working hard but not playing hard enough

Latest data  from criteo  shows that mobile shopping has gone mainstream. For the first time shoppers are moving away from their desktops to mobile..Asian Nations are leading this mobile  shopping transformation , while in US   mobile shopping  share is slightly lower  than the global average, with 29% of eCommerce transactions coming from mobile devices. 

For the first time ever more than 50% of  Japan and South Korea users had shopped via mobile devices and had  exceeded the volume of  eCommerce transactions  in Q1 2015.
