apple developers combined earned more than starbucks, dupont, mcdonald's

2017 was  indeed one of the best years  to be an Apple developer.Apple announced on Jan 4th that developers who make apps and games for its iOS mobile operating system earned $26.5 billion in revenue in 2017. That’s an increase of 30% over what developers generated from sales in 2016, and more than the annual revenues of Starbucks, Qualcomm, DuPont, Kraft Heinz, or McDonald’s, according to Fortune.

Apple said iOS customers made $890 million in purchases alone during the seven-day period between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.Apple also set a new record for App Store sales on New Year's Day, which was a 25% increase from the same day a year earlier with consumers reportedly spending around $300 million on apps on 1st Jan, the most for a single day since the App Store launched in 2008.

According to TheVergePokemon Go nabbed the top app spot once again, re-launching the app late in the year with new AR features – which were built on top of iOS ARKit.

Apple's numbers reveal that purchases in December 2017 exceeded more than  a billion dollars  in App Store purchases during the holidays, which is interesting, especially given the fact that most data and research reports claim that the majority of smartphone users in the United States download zero new apps per month.

One of the reasons for Apple's spectacular success was the redesigned the App Store.Over the past year Apple has made several changes in its apps store, including adding search advertising, improving developer tools and introducing new ways for third-party apps to make money.

For smaller developers, these efforts provides more incentives to build products, especially on emerging platforms like ARKit and the Apple Watch. The AR kit allows iPhones and iPads  to run augmented reality with ease.

Furthermore, with the release of iOS 11 in September 2017, App Store received a complete design overhaul, bringing a greater focus on editorial content and daily highlights, as well as a design similar in style to several of Apple's built-in iOS apps.Since its 2008 release, App Store has generated over $70 billion in revenue for developers.

Apple generally takes a 15% commission of app store sales.

Interestingly while originally developing iPhone prior to its unveiling in 2007, Apple's then-CEO Steve Jobs did not mean to let third-party developers build native apps for iOS, instead directing them to make web applications for the Safari web browser.However, backlash from developers prompted the company to reconsider, with Jobs announcing in October 2007 that Apple would have a software development kit available for developers by February 2008.The SDK was released on March 6, 2008;

In October 2016, in an effort to improve app discoverability, Apple rolled out the ability for developers to purchase advertising spots in App Store to users in the United States. The ads, shown at the top of the search results, are based strictly on relevant keywords.Apple expanded search ads to the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand in April 2017, along with more configurable advertising settings for developers.

In December 2017, Apple revamped its search ads program to offer two distinctive versions; "Search Ads Basic" is a pay-per-install program aimed at smaller developers, in which they only pay when users actually install their app.

great britain and united states sees iPhone 7 as the fastest selling smartphone device,

Despite predictions to the contrary, Apple's iPhone 7 emerges as the top smartphone selling brand spot in Great Britain

Data from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech shows that Apple's iPhone 7 has become the fastest selling and the highest selling smartphone device in Great Britain, and the US. Apple's iPhone 7 was the top selling device, pushing the previous top device (iPhone SE) to third, while iPhone 6s remained the second best-selling device for the 3 months ending October 2016

In the same period Japan stands at the top in the list of regions where iOS holds the greatest share, with 51.7% of smartphone sales, followed by 44% in Great Britain and 40.5% in the US. Meanwhile Android market share saw similar growth across a number of regions, declining only in the US (by 5.6 percentage points), and in Japan by less than a percent

Europe's big five markets for android include Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. However with iPhone 7 launch, Apple's iOS achieved year-on-year growth across most regions in EU5 except Germany, where it fell 2.7% points to 16.5% of smartphone sales. iPhone 7 cracked the top 10 smartphones sold in all regions but Spain, which remains dominated by the Android ecosystem at 91.7% of all sales

This comes in-spite of projection by some reports that iPhone 7 might not be able to replicate its iPhone 6 success in United Kingdom as it did in 2015.The company reportedly sold 25% fewer iPhones during the weekend after its launch than it did during the same period in 2015, following the launch of the iPhone 6s .

Meanwhile, DigiTimes recently carried a report that chip orders for Apple's iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are likely to be 20% lower in the first quarter of 2017 than in the same period of 2016. The report further said that Apple reportedly asked manufacturing partners to carry chips for 50 million units of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in the third quarter of 2016, but only 45 million units in the fourth quarter. The unverified reports contrast with initial indications from mobile operators in the US, which said that first-day sales of the new iPhone 7 were better than expected.

apple revenues declines,as it posts 3rd straight quarter of losses across china and us market

Apple Q4 Results Disappoints as it falls 2% with 3rd straight quarter of year-on-year revenue declines.Since releasing the iPhone 7 in September,2016 Apple share price has seen a 10%,rise posting its best performance in 2016 so far. But as Apples Q4, results came in, It showed Wall street that its optimism  was not founded on strong fundamentals and on how the iPhone 7 was selling.Apple beat analyst estimates of earnings per share ($1.67 vs. $1.66) and iPhone units sold (45.5 million vs. 45 million) but not revenue ($46.9 billion vs. $47 billion).World's thinnest Mac book pro launched today

But across the board all numbers were down from the fourth quarter a year ago.Compared with a year ago, Apple revenues are up in Europe and Japan, while down in China and the Americas. China especially should be a worry for Apple. Sales there declined by 30% year over year. iPhone, iPad, and Mac unit sales all fell from last year, with “services” like the App Store, Apple Music, and Apple Pay the only product segment going up.

" The iphone 7 costs around the world"

European countries citizens have to shell out the highest cost among all the countries when it comes to buying the iPhone 7 . Apple's latest iPhone will cost  256,058.64 Ft (£700) in Hungary, followed by Italy and Norway. top 5 best lessons from Apple for entrepreneurs

As an entrepreneur, you’ll hear a lot of people tell you that you need to reach out and figure out what people want, which means listening to your critics, often times more patiently than you’d like. Apple decides to flip the script and instead focus on building what they want to build, no matter the perceived cost. When Steve Jobs debuted the iPad, the critics stood in line, throwing every insult they could muster. The critics said that the iPad would fail. The numbers say otherwise

Stick to you conviction

.Each and every time Apple decided to innovate, they were laughed at. They prevailed anyway. “Great ideas often receive violent opposition from mediocre minds.”

 2. Turn the Ordinary into Something Beautiful For quite some time, PC fans enjoyed the work of buying their own parts and building their own tower systems. At the same time, PC makers were building standard hardware for standard applications. Apple would have none of that. They’ve been pioneering not only the features of standard operating systems and computer systems, but simultaneously reinventing the design standards as well. As a result, we have the gorgeous iMac, the beautiful new Macbook Air, and who could forget, the amazing iPhone 4. Where others focus on one aspect of the equation, Apple focuses on the entire product, and it shows.

Justify Your Price :We’re in a time when pricing strategies are all over the place. People don’t know what to charge, and in many cases, prefer to race to the bottom instead of pricing strategically to a market that can bear the cost.
Once more, Apple ignores the standard by not only pricing their technology more than 2x what their competitors charge, but doing so without blinking. How can they get away with it?
The truth of the answer is twofold: 1. They build beautiful products for an audience that loves them passionately. 2. They justify their price with features and benefits that can’t be matched.

Lets look at the 4 reasons why Apple can get away with its premium pricing

  1.  No other computer can match the display of a 27” iMac…it simply can’t be done.
  2.  No other software can match what iTunes brings to the table.
  3.  No laptop is as thin as the Macbook Air.
  4.  No software is more intuitive, no product more valuable than the Apple product.
  5. Any other smartphone looks like it was developed by rookies when compared to an iPhone
You simply cannot compare the two. "

  6. Build a tribe :It’s no secret that Apple has built one of the most hardcore fan bases of any product and of any time. There’s a reason they’re called “fanboys.”
But who cares, right? Most of the chatter is out of jealousy more than anything, but Apple doesn’t really care. They know that they serve an elite audience, and rather than back away from that fact, they embrace i

When it comes to just wearable technology,Its the  smartwatches which rule .Apple leads the race with  the company selling more than 4 million smartwatches in the first 6 months of 2015,compared to Samsung's 0.4million in the same duration.

Of the 74 percent of online American adults who are likely to purchase health and fitness technology in the next 12 months, one in three (35 percent) plan to buy a smartwatch, according to a report from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). And an embattled HTC, still  struggling  and has delayed its release of a planned co-branded fitness band with Under Armour.
