Given the highly technical nature of the industry where Facebook operates, it faces a very high demand for Temporary Foreign Employees:In 2015 it had received 767 LCAs ,out of which only 3 were denied, with a H1 B certification rate of 83.4%.
 
Facebook's average median salary for H 1B visa holders who were foreigners were $130,000.There were 256 application for Green card Holders, from foreign technical workers,who were on H1 B visa with a certification rate of  59%.Facebook has been the most lucrative company for H-1B visa holders thus far in 2015 (of the five companies above), with a median salary of $135K across all positions.

Facebook ranks among the top when it comes to paying of Salaries for software engineers who are on H1-B visa,with the highest median salary to foreign workers while Amazon came at the button for the same jobs.The above chart from Graphiq shows you a  comparison snapshot of how Facebook has been sponsoring  H1 B visa  to highly skilled technical foreign workers over the last 5 years.

Snapchat and instagram continues to rule of social media at least in US,its usage has been increasing at a faster pace as compared to the rest of the world .In the US, 34% of Americans polled are now on Snapchat, compared to 19% in 2014  26% in 2015 and 34% in 2016.However its a worrying sign for content providers as increasingly consumers are shirking and moving away from promoted posts and branded content

Snapchat and instagram continues to rule of sound waves in the United States. Snapchat users increased by almost 84% while instagram recorded 14% increases in usage in 2016 In the US, 34% of Americans polled are now on Snapchat, compared to 19% in 2014 .

While Instagram is even more popular: 43% of US respondents say they use it, compared to 29% in 2014. However, people are skeptical about branded content and ads on Instagram and Snapchat. In the US, 39% of respondents admit to 'actively ignore' content from brands –nearly 15% more than the global average. One three US users admit to feeling ‘constantly followed’ by online advertising and 43% object to the idea of their online behavior being tracked by brands.


However Kantar TNS has three top tips for brands to ensure they’re not actively ignored: 1. Get better at creating content which can be used across multiple channels 2. Work hand-in-hand with influencers as trusted sources of information and advice. 3. Get under the skin of what motivates and excites each of their customers..

Linkedin's total revenue increased 31% year-over-year to $933 million in its second quarter of 2016, Facebook had 1.71 billion monthly active user with $6.44 billion in revenues as of Q2,2016.Meanwhile Twitter active users grew 5% in Q2,2016 as its average monthly active users grew to 313 million,

Among the top 100 biggest brands this year APPLE, GOOGLE, MICROSOFT and IBM form the top 4 most valuable brand this year in the  BrandZ WPP group ranking. This years Millward brown brand report has some surprises and a few expected brand rankings 2015 number one global brand has been Apple.The Brand Value of the Top 10 brands almost tripled, to $1.1 trillion, one-third of the total value of the Global Top 100.Whereas the top 100 brand value now stands at $3.3 trillion, a 14% increase on 2014 and a 126% growth over 2006 .Apple, with its relentless focus on the consumer experience, and the ability to wow its consumers demonstrated this yet again with the iPhone 6, returns to the top spot with a 67 percent increase in brand value.

Youtube ,Snapchat replaces Facebook as US teens favorite social destination

A new study by Forrester Research found that just 65 percent of U.S. online users between the ages of 12 and 17 consider Facebook to be cool—ahead of Tumblr (62 percent), Pinterest (58 percent) and Google+ (55 percent), but lagging behind YouTube (80 percent), Snapchat (79 percent), Instagram (78 percent), Vine (72 percent), Twitter (69 percent) and WhatsApp (67 percent).

However, Forrester found that more than 60 percent of respondents use Facebook the most of all social networks, with more than one-third saying they are on it “all the time.”

H1B VISA Average Median Salary :Which Technology major pays the highest

Among the 5 major tech giants Facebook pays the highest salary to the H1B visa foreign workers.With $130,000 median annual salary, the worlds biggest social network ranks 1st, followed by Apple who pays $123,000 and ranks second as the second biggest paymaster to H1V visa holders.

Google pays  a median salary of $120,000 annually. Microsoft and Amazon takes the 4th and 5th rank the bottom among the top 5 Tech Companies with 118,000 and 109,000 respectively
Amazon ranks right at the bottom of the pile having increased their pay to H1B visa holders by mere 6% since 2013

While Google has cut its average salary by 5% from what it used to pay in 2014, Apple and Microsoft  both has increased their pay to H1B holders by 3%.

Facebook Social Signal Tool could signal the death knell for print media

In what could be a " death knell to a already fledging newspaper  and print industry, Facebook introduced a social signal platform that allows journalists to discover,find and  embed news content    as it tries to  entice news reports and journalists " to  use Facebook as a content syndication tool as a vital part of their news gathering process

The tool, which pulls from both Facebook and Instagram, allows journalists the opportunity “to make Facebook a cornerstone  more vital part of their news gathering with access to relevant trends, photos, videos, and posts on Facebook and Instagram for use in their storytelling and reporting”
Announcing this in a  blog post Andy Mitchell, Director of Media Partnerships
Last week Facebook introduced its Mentions app to all of its verified profiles, allowing journalists and celebrities the opportunity to broadcast live video streams and create posts that only go out to their followers.
This annoucement follows Facebook launching its Mention App
