In 2013   Facebook;s mobile  base ( active users ) was 64%  and its share of ad revenues by users coming from mobile web was 34%. (q12013 - q12014)
In 2014   its mobile base of active users reached 83% . While advertising revenue from its mobile users grew  to 67%  ( q22014 - q12015).Thats a monumental growth of 30% in  active users and 50% growth in revenues

Anthony Noto, the former banker from Goldman Sachs to become financial chief at Twitter was the biggest earner, with a compensation of $72.8 million in 2014, including stock awards valued at $63.1 million and options of $9.5 million.

 His compensation was about three times the pay of his predecessor, Mike Gupta, who made $24.6 million, almost all of it from stock awards, in 2013. 

  Mr Noto earns much more than $11.5 million that CEO Dick Costolo was awarded in 2013(Costolo, however, owns more than eight million Twitter shares worth about $413 million) and well outstrips the $6.7 million Adam Bain made as president of revenue. 

  The third-highest earner was Twitter’s engineering chief, Alex Roetter, who received an $18.8 million stock award as part of total compensation of $19.1 million. Earlier in 2013 Twitter had awarded Chris Fry, who was the senior vice president for technology, more than $10 million in stock

TECH GIANTS WITH THE BIGGEST ADVERTISER BASE

How do the tech giants square up in terms of its active advertiser base ?Comparing the growth in the number of online advertisers between FACEBOOK, GOOGLE AND TWITTER  reveals a few interesting stats

Facebook  reached a milestone of 2 million online advertisers in february this year This number represents a 33% increase compared with  what was reported in July 2014, and is up 100% on June 2013.

Meanwhile Macquarie Research estimates "Google's advertiser base to be  4 million" , although this number would probably be higher given the fact that "Google 's revenue model is based on  more direct advertising relationships" across the digital advertising space. Since google does not reveal  this data, its not possible to verify the data

Meanwhile last year Twitter had  60,000 advertisers .However this number should increase in 2015 as  Twitter has expanded its  self serve ads across 8 new geographical markets in Q4, and now has a presence across  28 countries

Watsapp is now 800million and well on its way to reach the milestone of 1 billion by the third quarter of 2015.Watsapp had added a 100million users in the last one year ( Jan 2014 to Jan 2015)  According to a latest blog post an Facebook director and and WhatsApp co-founder and CEO Jan Koum announced the milestone in a Facebook post last week announcing that "WhatsApp was now serving 800,000,000 monthly active users.

 Amidst its blazing growth some other milestones reached by Whatsapp include 1)1 billion Android downloads, reached as of March 2015 and over 30 billion messages daily 2)Share of mobile internet users in the U.S. who are active WhatsApp users exceed 8% 3)Across Middle east, Whatsapp beats Facebook according to a recent study by NW university, Qatar 

 Overall Whatsapp total users have already crossed a billion mark. Monthly active visitors are a more better and realistic way to judge active user growth than total user base, as its provides a realistic benchmark

 In spite of its heft valuation, Twitter's growth has stunted as Facebook continues to grow..leaving twitter far behind. How Twitters growth has declined can be seen by this chart above.Starting off with 197 million active users in Q1 2009, Facebook added 411 million users within two years. Twitter, having had 204 million users in Q1 2013, only managed to add 84 million to its user base during the same time frame.  Facebook is beating twitter by 5: 1

 One of the major problems Twittereems to be facing  is that there a lot of churn — lots of people sample the service and then stop using it. And it may be that Twitter, which has its own particular set of customs and expectations — try telling someone who doesn’t use the service what “retweet” is, and how that differs from a “modified tweet” — may simply be more of a niche service than Facebook.
