In the fiscal quarter of 2015, Apple’s revenue in China grew to $12.51 billion from $6.29 billion in 2014, a growth off almost 100%. Apple's revenue in China again exceeded  that of Europe at $10.57 billion. The Greater China region remains Apple’s second largest market after the Americas, underscoring the critical importance of this area to Apple’s future growth.With its huge consumer base and growing middle class, China is seen as Apple's greatest chance at growth as the iPhone sales boom stagnates in more mature markets like the U.S

As per Kantar Media data based on November,2016 numbers,  show Apple's share in urban China slowing from 25.3% to 19.9% amidst defending  off against local Chinese homegrown firms  like  Huawei, Oppo, and Xiaomi. Huawei managed a 25%, though this was actually a decline of 3.1 percentage points from a previous three-month period ending in October. In the same span, Apple advanced 2.8 percentage points thanks to the iPhone 7.The device in fact became the best-selling Chinese smartphone during the November period, taking 6.6 percent of sales, relegating Oppo's R9 to second place at 4.7 percent.

This statistic shows Apple iPhone sales worldwide from the third quarter of 2007 to the company's most recent financial quarter ( Q4,2016).  The iPhone just completed a decade since Steve Jobs first annouced the iPhone launch on Jan7th,2007. Incidently Q1,2015 along with Q1,2016 saw iPhone sales reaching its all time high of  almost 75million sales.. which is the highest so far in iPhone sales history..Q2,15 was the next highest selling sales quarter for iPhone is it sold over 61 million smartphones globally

In the second quarter of 2011, 18.65 million iPhone's were sold worldwide as compared to 72 million iPhone sold in the entire 2011 fiscal year. Steve Jobs when he had announced the iPhone has mentioned about targeting 1% of global smartphone market.  Today its share of the high-end, high-profit smartphone market is huge, though, with Apple earning between 60% and 70% of the worldwide profit on smartphones in 2013.

Apple revealed during its last earnings call in 2016 that it has sold over a billion iPhone Smartphones.As of October,2016 Apple has sold 45.51 million iPhone in the three months ended Sept. 24, beating the average analysts' estimate of 44.8 million, according to research firm FactSet Street. However, it was the third quarter in a row of falling iPhone sales, and the company's revenue fell 9% to $46.85 billion, marking the third straight quarterly decline.

Apple Q4 Results Disappoints as it falls 2% with 3rd straight quarter of year-on-year revenue declines.Since releasing the iPhone 7 in September,2016 Apple share price has seen a 10%,rise posting its best performance in 2016 so far. But as Apples Q4, results came in, It showed Wall street that its optimism  was not founded on strong fundamentals and on how the iPhone 7 was selling.Apple beat analyst estimates of earnings per share ($1.67 vs. $1.66) and iPhone units sold (45.5 million vs. 45 million) but not revenue ($46.9 billion vs. $47 billion).World's thinnest Mac book pro launched today


 But across the board all numbers were down from the fourth quarter a year ago.Compared with a year ago, Apple revenues are up in Europe and Japan, while down in China and the Americas. China especially should be a worry for Apple. Sales there declined by 30% year over year. iPhone, iPad, and Mac unit sales all fell from last year, with “services” like the App Store, Apple Music, and Apple Pay the only product segment going up.

European countries citizens have to shell out the highest cost among all the countries when it comes to buying the iPhone 7 . Citizens of Hungary, Italy and Norway have to pay the highest amount in Europe to buy the latest iPhone 7 . Apple's latest iPhone will cost  256,058.64 Ft (£700) in Hungary, followed by Italy and Norway. European nations will have to pay almost 100 pounds more than the equivalent costs of the price of iPhone in the United States .
In the US, the same 32GB model starts at $649 (£487.75) and in Canada at $899 (£521.75).However taxation plays another big part in deciding the MRP to consumers
Apple's iPhone 7 prices for the UK and other nations in Europe includes  sales tax, but prices in the US and Canada don't include it due to state-by-state variations. In New York, for example the iphone 7 attracts a 8% sales tax  which makes the cost of iPhone  7 over $700 in NY. However in other states there is no sales tax.The iPhone 7 in  Germany costs Euro 583 , while costing Euro 699 in France. In Russia  Apple's latest piece of gizmo costs above 60,000 roubles in Russia . In Hong Kong consumers have to shell out  5,500 Hong Kong dollar to get the  iPhone 7. For Ireland and  Spanish consumers  their  iPhone 7 will come at a price of  Euro 650.

The iphone had a cult following even before it was launched and even before a single piece of it was sold.In 2007 the year of Iraq invasion and Paris Hilton’s jail sentence , the jesus phone was launched. Soon after its announcement,The blog Gizmodo dubbed it the Jesus phone ,as Apple for the first time used spiritual overtones for its iPhone launch. Its print and TV ads screamed “ Touching is believing"  showing a finger reaching out in dark to touch the iphone. The visual impact of the sleek iPhone overshadowed its features. Journalists played along its tune, comparing Michael Angelo's Sistine chapel painting of God stretching to touch the finger of Adam. The iPhone’s retail debut was termed iday. The official day when iPhone opened for retail was June 29th 2007 , which was also the day of Roman holiday celebrating the feast of martyred apostles ,St Peter and St Paul.By the time the 'iPhone: finally made it to the market,it had already inspired 11000 in print articles and  generated 69 million of google search
Meanwhile to rivals such as RIM, Motorola, Nokia, the iPhone's  popularity was illogical. Its battery lasted less that 10 hours , it operated on an older slower and second generation network,the network carriers were stretched strained by music, movies and other downloads. This particularly hit RIM hard.After unprecedented success and blitzkrieg growth since 2003 , it faced an adversary it did not understand. According to David Yach .RIM’s chief technology officer ,going by conventional smartphone ecosystem at that time, iPhone should have been a disaster.However the iPhone's masterstroke flipped the raisan de etre of smartphone from something that was functional to a product that was beautiful.




 Meanwhile RIM faced trouble from the carriers front.The carriers would not allow RIM to include more than a simple browser as it would crash its networks. After the iPhone autopsy, Blackberry’s bosses of realised that the ground beneath their feet was shifting. If carriers continued to embrace iPhone inspite of its apps and mutimedia applications chocking their networks. Blackberry’s positioning of efficient and secure email and the long battery life was under threat. In reality Blackberry was actually competing with Mac and not a Nokia.However RIM core market of corporate customers was safe at that time as the iPhone could not match blackberry’s reliable keyboard and in house network delivery of secure emails.However the consumer mass market where Blackberry Pearl was competing, needed a full browser . Blackberry led the smartphone market at that time as it managed to put email in people’s pockets. Now the iPhone was putting the entire internet in its pocket.
Continuing and Compounding matters was the conflict between RIM and and the carriers . Up against AT & T and its exclusive multiyear deal to sell the iPhone, Verizon who was currently RIM’s network provider had little interest in Blackberry’s new plan to counter iPhone by launching a new keyboard with an innovative track pad to take on iPhones touch screen keyboard and by building a larger screen. However Verizon who was caught off guard with the ascendancy of iPhone had little patience with what Mike Lazaridis termed as “ Jesus phone killer’ and wanted blackberry to quickly respond to iphone with similar touch screen, something RIM was not willing to do


Meanwhile Verizon was still smarting from a a lost opportunity to tie up with iphone 2 years earlier as it rejected Steve Jobs offer to partner with Apple’s new phone. Verizon who was known for its stickler for bandwidth reliability clearly declined Apple’s offer as it did not want to relinquish control of its network to an un known and unseen smartphone which Apple wanted to design. Like Mike Lazaridis verizon’s core executives .According to “ Sean silcoff “author of the book “ “Loosing the signal” which chronicles the fall of blackberry had correctly predicted that the iPhone traffic would create a gridlock on AT and T’s network What it did not anticipate that consumers did not care. A multi billion dollar market in carrier revenue was about to open up and AT and T had the lock on the hottest device . RIM’s new blackberry Bold was simply no match for the jesus smartphone.

Apple devices continue to dominate revenues derived from mobile email, accounting for 77% share this past quarter. The iPhone comprised 34% share of orders (up from 23% during Q3 2014), taking share from the iPad, which accounted for 43% of orders (down from 58% during the year-earlier period).

Global smartphone market is set to slow down,with china smartphone sales cooling off . However growth will come from the Middle East and Africa, with gains of nearly 50 percent, overtaking other emerging economies such as India and Indonesia

IDC: Smartphone Vendor Market Share 2015, 2014, 2013, and 2012 Chart Global smartphone sales growth will cool to single digits for the first time ever amid a slowdown in China, a new market forecast said Thursday. According to  IDCworldwide smartphone shipments to grow 9.8 percent in 2015 to a total of 1.43 billion units. The forecast  expects slower growth in many Asian markets, Latin America and western Europe

IDC  also predicts that  Android is likely to remain dominant this year with a market share of 81.2%  while Apple captures 15.8 percent of the market. It expects Windows Phone to hold just 2.2 percent of the market and other operating systems 0.8 percent. The cooling is expected to continue through 2019, IDC said.

The Ipad continues to bleed as the IPhone continue to ride on unprecedented growth. From a peak of 25 million Ipads  in December 2014.

Ipad shipments  has slumped to 9.9 million last quarter, down 20% year-over-year. However it still managed to do about $4.3 billion this quarter , but whats disappointing, is that this was the first time  that Apple shipped fewer than 10 million iPad's in a quarter since the June 2011 quarter.

 In contrast the story of iPhone is something remarkable.The very fact that iPhone manages to sell upgraded versions year after year, without a  radical change in its product is remarkable. This quarter iPhone made up 63% of  overall Apple revenue ,selling more than 48 million  iPhone's a 22% YoY growth

3)Apple's gross margin was 39% compared to 38% in the year-ago quarter.Gross margin is a closely watched measure of profitability. It sold 48.04 million iPhones in its fiscal fourth quarter. Once again the iPhone was instrumental in Apples success which accounted 63% of revenue in this quarter

4)Fiscal 2015 was Apple’s most successful year ever, with revenue growing 28% to nearly $234 billion.In 2014, during the  quarter Apple sold a record 74.46 million iPhones.

5)The biggest news was that Apple was growing at the expense of Google's android.Apple's CEO announced that 30% of consumers who bought an iPhone replaced a smartphone running Google Inc.'s Android operating system during the quarter. He said this is the highest rate of Android "switchers" that Apple has ever measured. This is the first time " Android has seen" such a switch to iOS OS according to Apple

Apple's 9th september event rumored to unveil 4 inch iphone and apple TV




Get ready to welcome back Apple's keynote come september Apple’s upcoming iPhone event is taking place on September 9, and the press blitz is coming fast. Howrever for those apple fanatics who felt apple will be unveiling its next  hand watch or iweight accessories, a new icar or a new iTV is set for disappointment.

However as it goes with tradition, There would be a launch however as according to Appleinsider while Apple will announce two new iPhone 6 models on stage, there won’t be a 4-inch "iPhone 6c". According to 9to5mac’s Mark Gurman, Apple is retiring the smaller iPhone c product line due to an "aging feature set." The site adds that Apple is working on a new 4-inch phone product, but that it will not be released this year.
Meanwhile new reports from buzzfeed suggests Apple would make some kind of announcement of the new Apple TV. This was originally pegged for a launch in June 2015 during WWDC but was scrapped at the last minute the announcement then.

On an  average  around  1.3 watches were ordered with spends of  $503.83 per watch. Those ordering an Apple Watch Sport spent $382.83 per watch and those ordering the Apple Watch spent $707.04.

Interestingly  those who bough the apple watch  72% purchased an Apple product in the past two years (iPhone, Mac or iPad), and 21% pre-ordered an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus mere months ago

62%  purchased the less-expensive Sport model. However, many Apple Watch buyers invested in the pricier case but the cheapest band, with more than one third adding a black or white Sport band
