PC sales declines as tablet sales grow 500%

The  chart above  shows  how connected devices are going to dominate our lives in the coming year.. PC sales clearly has taken a severe beating  with the last 7 years saw a mere increase of 7 million increase in sales from 2008 to 2015 (projected)  from 150million to 157million.

The biggest  rise has been in the proliferation of feature phones which grew from 921 million in 2008 to  1570million in 2015 ( projected )

Smartphone sales have grown by aprox  100%  from  252 million in 2008  to estimated  776 million projected by 2015. Tablet  sales  has seen a phenomenal rise of over 6 times from  65million to 445 million by 2015 as projected by statista. In 2014  tablet sales exceeded 265million

UK Blackberry Users drops to 700,000, as windows phone grabs 8.5% share

Its been a long time we heard about Blackberry ,While BlackBerry’s market share has been slipping for several years now, eMarketer’s latest figures indicate that  in the  United Kingdom  Blackberry  now has as few as 700,000 users in the UK, with this number expected to fall to 400,000 by 2017. 


Globally as  of June 2014 blackberry sales  was down to 46 million , from 85 million  in  September 2013 . BlackBerry subscribers worldwide has been  dropped steadily and the UK market's rapid fall will  only serve to  benefit windows phone, which has been picking up marketshare steadily.Windows Phone, meanwhile, has seen its popularity grow  and estimated to have around  3.3 million users in UK as per eMarketer estimates , and a projected market share of 8.5%

The chart from statscounger shows the " Browser Marketshare of Tablets from Feb 2013 onwards.From 76% marketshare in 2013, Safari forms 69% user base in US  as of Jan 2015, a decline of 7% in the last 2 years

 Still its leading by a large margin. Google Chrome  is ranked number 2 with 12% marketshare

Emarketer data shows by 2017 45% mobile  users will be be powered by 4G technology, while  its likely to cross the halfway mark ( 48%) by 2019

Internet Usage via Mobile Devices growing at 67% this year

The use mobile web continues to grow phenomenally as mobile penetration in Asian countries led by China, India and Indonesia starts to explode of mobile devices to access the internet has increased by 67% worldwide over the last 12 months according to StatCounter,

Mobile usage has already overtaken desktop in several countries including India, South Africa and Saudi Arabia,"The report from the company's research arm, StatCounter Global Stats, finds that while desktop remains the most popular means to access the web on 64.6%, mobile has grown rapidly from 17.1% to 28.5%. Tablet devices account for 6.8% of internet usage, compared to 4.8% 12 months ago..
