Most nations asks Google to remove data which it considers sensitive, or information which it feels  should not be for public consumption .The above chart shows which nations have asked Google  for removing user data, or collection of data which it wishes to investigate. For example, some content removals are requested due to allegations of defamation, while others are due to allegations that the content violates local laws prohibiting hate speech or adult content. Laws surrounding these issues vary by country, and the requests reflect the legal context of a given jurisdiction. While some amount of  surveillance is needed to stop acts of terrorism, war, Plotting against a religious group   Jihads, or hackers . There are some requests for " unnecessary eavesdropping that goes against the privacy of an individual 

Though the internet is still the biggest "enablers " of world citizens" in shaping the world . Web Neutrality or Internet Democracy are still miles away

The request are not only from Google, the biggest destination site in the world, accessed by over 90% of web users.. but these request are also from Youtube, Google , Adwords, (orkut which no longer exists)

According to For Google this week had been an historic one has this 18th August, 2014 had been 10 years since Google debuted its IPO.  While Google has seen  many ups and downs, and at that time no none could have thought " Google would be powering their smartphones via the Mobile OS Android.. But the fact remains that 10 years in an technology industry , Google has mellowed ,made money, and made a lot of enemies ( Microsoft, Apple )
However there has been many anecdotes and behind the scenes on the run up to the IPO..which have been republished
  1.  The value of the shares Google decided to offer was a nerdy little joke: $2,718,281,828 - the first nine decimal places in the irrational number e.t -.

Q1, 2014 Internet Advertising Revenue in US records highest ever growth at 19%,exceeds $11.6 billion

US online ad revenues cross 11.6billion dollars

Internet advertising revenues in the U.S. reached $11.6 billion for the first quarter of 2014,  which was an increase of 19%  over the same period in 2013, according to the latest IAB Internet Advertising Revenue   report

These  data  comes from  the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PwC US. This is an historic first-quarter high and a significant increase over last year’s first-quarter revenue level, which was record-setting at $9.6 billion.

Social Native Ads To Grow Higher than Online Display Advertising

A  recent BIA/Kesley report came out with  the latest data which suggests that " Social Media" will play a huge part in the new evolving landscape. While Online display ad revenues in the U.S. will grow from $4.3 billion in 2013 to $6.8 billion in 2017, a jump  of 12.6% CAGR, as compared with Native  Social Ads which will grow more  than 2.5 times  to $5billion

Comparatively  during the same period, U.S. native social advertising, spurred primarily by Facebook’s Sponsored Stories and Twitter’s Promoted Tweets, will more than double, from $2.4 billion to nearly $5 billion, a 20.3% CAGR

In 2015 BIA/Kelsey projected that the US social native media spending would amount to around $3.7 billion, whereas the online display advertising spending will touch $ 5.5billion .The above graph compares the online display advertising compared with Native presents the social display and native advertising spending in the United States in 2012 and a forecast until 2017
