Indian wearable market shipped 567,000 devices in q2, registering 42% growth

Wearable market in India grows by 41.9 percent in Q2, 2016: IDC




The wearable devices in Indian market is turning out to the latest tech device that has started to show traction, with wearable's shipments touched 557,000, with a 42% growth rate in the quarter 2016 q2. according to IDC. Out of the total device sold, 16% were sold by  GOQi, edging out Xiaomi which ranked second with 10% device share, followed by with Fitbit's 6.7%.





According to IDC’s “Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker” report, the total shipment in the second quarter stood at over 567,000 units of which the basic wearables, defined as those which cannot run third-party applications, contributed nearly 94 percent. There is even a new entrant to the top 5 list in Indian wearable market. Garmin made an entry to the top five with a 1.4 percent share and Huawei stood fifth with 1.0 percent market share. Domestic consumer electronics company Intex held a significant chunk in the “others” category and was one of the major drivers of the market,

32% decline in smartwatches for the first time sends OEM's into panic

Smartwatches Shipments this year showsa blip in the wearable devices as it sales decrease by 16% .or the first time, the worldwide smartwatch market saw a year-over-year decline of 32%, according to preliminary data from the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker


However this will remain just a blip on the overall wearables radar as long term shipments of smartwatches are likely to soar to double digits. Also coupled with the fact is that wearble's are sitting on a huge cash pile.  ready to witness a massive adoption. Recent Businessinsider estimates smartwatch shipments will rise by a compound annual rate of 41% over the next five years. Smartwatches will account for 59% of total wearable device shipments this year, and that share will expand to just over 70% of  the $126million shipments by 2019.

IDC recently announced the Big Three in wearables: Collectively the big 3 Fitbit, Apple, and Xiaomi,  controls 65% of wearable market : Fitbit with 22.2%, Apple with 18.6%, and Xiaomi with 17.4% leads the market

Apple iwatch set for April 2015, start from $349

The #Apple Watch, to be branded as #iwatch,  is all set to distrupt the wearables market as the launch date is  about to be announced very soon, and if reports from techcrunch suggests that April is going to see the Apple iWatch make its debut in the US market . Recent leaks have suggested that the iwatch is to be sold at  $349,

As with Apple and Ipad.. the  supply chain has been working non stop 24/7 to meet the explosive demand that Apple products generate .Apple has ordered between five and six million devices to be produced in preparation for the kick-off of sales, according to WSJ today, a figure which matches the  original and first iPad  launch of  initial order of 5 million 

 Industryt watches and Apples own forecasts reveals   that anticipated sales would outstrip  far above the estimated 720,000 devices across all Android wearable manufacturers the occurred during the entirety of 2014.
