Edelman launches Trust Barometer for Online Brands



The 2013 Edelman Trust Barometer is the firm’s 13th annual trust and credibility survey. The survey was produced by research firm Edelman Berland and consisted of 20-minute online interviews conducted October 16, 2012 – November 29, 2012. The 2013 Edelman Trust Barometer online survey sampled 26,000 general population respondents with an oversample of 5,800 informed publics ages 25-64 across 26 countries

What UK Searched Most on Google in 2012 : top 10 List


Google Zeitgeist 2012: the key lists for the UK | Technology | guardian.co.uk: Google 's year end data " Google Zeitgeist for UK in 2012 is out which  lists measuring the fastest growing search terms throughout the year, rather than largest volume of searches. These lists all relate to Google searches by UK internet users.





Singer Whitney Houston, who died in February, was the most Googled celeb in 2012, closely followed by her Royal Duchessness, Kate Middleton.


Five-year-old April Jones, the Welsh girl who went missing in October, was the 4th most searched for term in the UK as the nation searched and spread the word about her sudden disappearance. 46-year-old Mark Bridger is currently in prison awaiting trial for her murder.

Skyfall, Gangnam Style and Victoria Pendleton are also among this year's top internet searches, while 'love' remains the most searched-for 'what is?' query.



The Victoria's Secret lingerie brand, modelled here by one of its Angels Miranda Kerr, came third in the most searched-for fashion labels behind Stella McCartney and Karl Lagerfeld

How "Gadgets" have changed American Holiday Shopping





Marking their sharpest rise of the year so far, online sales increased 12.20% year over year in October among small and midsized retailers indexed by Dydacomp, a provider of order management software. As in prior months, sporting goods and books led the way. But sporting goods—second in growth rate to books in September—surged ahead in October with a growth rate of 39.80%. Books took second place with 23.43% growth

Real-time bidding Ad Spends grow 30% in 2012,


Real-time bidding soars, expected to be $7bn market by 2016 | Econsultancy: According to a report published this week by sell-side platform Index Platform, the number of RTB impressions sold via its platform jumped nearly 30% in the first and second quarters of the year. What's more: growth was driven by both major advertisers, which accounted for 57% of all spend in Q2, and local advertisers, which increased their spend by nearly 50% quarter-over-quarter.

Data from the  Index Platform ,saw advertisers in 80% of sectors increasing the number impressions bought via RTB, suggesting that, despite real-time bidding's imperfections, adoption will continue to grow.

The big questions: just how much will it grow, and how rapidly? According to eMarketer, RTB spend in the United States will reach $7.1bn by 2016 -- nearly a third of the display ad market -- up from $1.9bn this year. Much of the growth will come in the next year, with the RTB train slowing in 2014 and beyond as it becomes an ubiquitous part of the landscape.

Barack Obama Appears To Be Spending About $4.4k To $13.1k / Day On Google Search. Mitt Romney Appears To Be Spending About  $3.4k To $6.3k / Day On Google Search. In Other Words, Obama Is Spending Up To Twice As Much On Google Search Advertising As Romney. These Are Just Estimates Based On Traffic And Cost Per Click Estimates

The conclusion as depicted by the charts show that President Obama Trumped across the digital space   as well, with considerable  lead over Governor Romney by a significant margin.

Data  estimates reveal that President Obama had more than 3 times as many estimated website viewers in October than Governor Romney (8.6 million vs. 2.6 million)
Across social media, President Obama had 3 times Facebook fans as compared to Romney (31 million vs. 11 million); Twitter followers (21.7 million vs. 1.6 million); YouTube subscribers (257,471 vs. 28,579), and YouTube video views (262.3 million vs. 29.3 million).

Google Sites ranked as the #1 property in  Q3,2012 ,August with 187 million visitors, followed by Microsoft Sites with 170 million and Yahoo with 164million

Advertiser Networks in US   ,Q3,2012 Rankings

For Advertising Networks and Buy Side Networks, PulsePoint ranked #1 with a 96.4-percent reach, followed by Vibrant Media (93.1 percent), Specific Media (93 percent), Google Ad Network (92.7 percent) and AOL Advertising (84.2 percent).
Among syndicated  Sharing websites , ShareThis ranked first in August with an 87% reach in US
No 2 was Google  with 81.6 %  share
 Yahoo! Sites  was no 3 with 74%  share of US 
Outbrain  and Facebook  with 72%  and  69% respectively  made up the top 5 sharing  syndication sites
