Windows 8 powered HTC Phones 8X and 8S coming soon




HTC has unveiled two Windows Phone 8 handsets at an event in New York which  it intends to promote the 8X, which features a 4.3" (10.9cm) display, as its flagship device alongside the Android-powered One X.

The HTC devices have a design based on the Windows Phone Live Tiles and will come in colors including "California blue," graphite black, flame red, and "limelight yellow."
The firm is also offering a smaller 8S model with a 4" (10.2cm) screen.
HTC's share price has fallen more than 50% since February after the firm experienced weak sales of earlier models despite positive reviews.HTC said the 8X would launch in 50 countries in early November across 126 mobile operators, while the 8S would be available in 52 countries with more than 146 operators.
 This comes after Nokia unveiled its smartphones powered by Windows Phone 8, Microsoft's upgraded mobile operating system that aims to compete with Apple's iOS used on the iPhone and a multitude of Google Android handset

Windows Phone 8 Powered New Nokia Lumia Models Launched

Two new Lumia smartphones powered by  Windows Phone 8, called the Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820, at a conference in New York, which was broadcast live across the world, including India.


The Nokia Lumia 920 is the company's new flagship smartphone. It has a 4.5-inch LCD touchscreen with all-new PureMotion HD+ technology and Qualcomm S4 1.5GHz dual-core processor, the first Lumia smartphone with dual-core technology. However, when quizzed about the reason for using LCD screen in the phone instead of AMOLED, the company officials cited incompatibility.

It features a 8.7 megapixel (MP) rear camera with PureView technology that can capture and record HD videos at 1080p. According to Joe Harlow, the head of Nokia's Lumia division, the phone has the best camera among all high-end smartphones.

Mobile OS War Intensifies :Windows Phone 8 vs Windows 7.8 vs Android 4.0





The new Windows Phone 8 is finally official and quite frankly it beat our expectations - Microsoft definitely delivered with dual-core processors, high-res screens, deep Skype integration and expandable storage, but it actually surprised us with the new awesome Start Screen and the work it’s done with games. Also, it’s bringing some other new features in conjunction with carriers like the Wallet with NFC.
