YEAR ON YEAR AD SPENDING GROWTH RATES : NORTH AMERICA  AND  UNITED STATES

The latest Carat report on ” global advertising spends”is based on the  data received from 59 markets across the Americas, Asia Pacific and EMEA,

Carat’s latest global advertising expenditure forecasts that global advertising spend will grow by +4.0% in 2015 to US $529billion, while  ad spends in  2016 is predicted to grow by +4.7%, accounting for an additional US$25billion in spending

Marketers will increase their Mobile and Online Video advertising spends especially across social media, with +51.2% and +22% year-on-year growth expected this year.Programmatic buying is also experiencing rapid growth at a rate of +20% each year.

GLOBAL ADVERTISING YEAR ON YEAR GROWTH : 2015 VS 2016


Western Europe remains stable with consistent year-on-year growth at +2.6% in 2015 and +2.9% in 2016 driven by positive momentum in the UK and Spain.


The online & digital  media,  share of  2015 advertising spends was 24.3% which will increase to 26.5% in 2016..Digital continues to be the only channel which is seeing double digital growth, predicted at +15.7% in 2015 and +14.3% in 2016
  • Across 10 of the markets analysed, including the UK, Ireland, Canada and Australia, Digital is now the principle media used based on spend, with the US market predicted to join this list in 2018 when digital advertising spend is forecast to overtake TV advertising by more than US $4billion.
  • The positive momentum of advertising spends  is expected to continue across the world at the

In Greece the average length  for an employee to stick to their jobs are the highest with 13 years. Next comes Portugal , where the average time people spend with  a company is 12.5 years. In Belgium is not uncommon  to  continue working in the same company for 12 years..

 Australia is the number one when it comes to  Advertising Spends globally. Australia spends 582 USD  worth of advertising per capita. This includes  spends across  the digital web plus  magazines,newspapers radio and TV including outdoor.
 With USD 540  United Kingdom comes 2nd in terms of ad spends per capita Norway spends upto USD 535 per capita and ranks 3rd. United states ranks 4  with their  ad spends per capita at USD 404.Germany and Japan ranks  at 9th and 10th with per capita as spends of USD 320 and 319 respectively.

The above chart  shows  how much is mobile commerce   a percentage of   ecommerce  across US, Canada, UK, Spain, Italy, Poland, France, Germany and Netherlands. The highest mobile to ecommerce sales percentage was found in UK and Germany  . In both these countries total  mobile commerce formed 28.6 and 27.7%  of eCommerce with smartphone  contributing to 16.5 and 16.2% and the rest  was contributed by tablets .In US  mobile to ecom percentage was 26.8 with 14% coming from smartphone  and 12.4% coming from Tablets. . It is expected that in UK  28/6% of  online sales would be generated by mobile devices this year

The MasterCard Mobile Payments Readiness Index (MPRI) guide  ranks 34 nations by their   mobile economy readiness index,  which is based on a  Mastercard survey  shows    a countries  preparedness and receptivity  towards moving to a complete mobile economy which includes ( mobile commerce,mobile transactions and mobile payments .

The scale runs from zero to 100,with 100 representing complete replacement of plastic cards by mobile devices, an unlikely scenario. However all nations are ranked based on  6 metrics outlined in the above chart

 US  overall media ad spends in 2014  including digital and mobile comes to $178billion as against  Canada’s $15.5 billion. Compared to global  media spends of $546 billion. The US  accounts  for  33% of overall  spends on advertising globallu

 US   digital marketing spends in 2014 was  $50.7 billion, out of global ad spends of  $145billion The US accounted for 34% global  digital marketing spends. Meanwhile   Canada  online ad spends reached $3.61billion

E commerce Sales Tops $1 Trillion , Asia set to replace US as no 1



Move over North America, its time to make room for Asia pacific as the number 1 in online commerce marketplaceAccording to eMarketer 2013 iswill see sales increase by more than 30% to over $433 billion—or more than one-third of all global B2C ecommerce sales.

Although b2b E commerce Sales in North America grew 14% to a respectable $364.66 billion in 2012, but that was not enough to stop Asia Pacific as the no 1 B2C marketplace.

In comparison B2C ecommerce sales in Asia-Pacific grew more than 33% to $332.46 billion in 2012. This year, the region will see sales increase by more than 30% to over $433 billion—or more than one-third of all global B2C ecommerce sales. 

This year, b2c online sales will grow 18.3% to $1.298 trillion worldwide, eMarketer estimates, as Asia-Pacific surpasses North America to become the world’s No. 1 market for B2C ecommerce sales.” .

But despite strong growth, North America’s share of global sales will drop from 33.5% last year to 31.5% in 2013 as Asia-Pacific surges ahead. B2C ecommerce sales in Asia-Pacific grew more than 33% to $332.46 billion in 2012.

Canada Auto Brand Marketshare in April,2012

Chrysler Canada sold 24,540 new vehicles in April 2012, a gain of 3% compared with April 2011. The group’s leading brand, Dodge, was down 20%, though the old Dodge/Ram tandem combined for 15,281 sales, nearly enough to topple the Toyota brand.

Canada’s top-ranked brand in April was Ford, though sales slid 5%. Blue Oval sales are down 2% so far this year. GM also took a plunge, down 7% on the whole, with only one of its four brands reporting anything other than a decrease. GMC’s 2% increase, mixed with Nissan’s 6% loss, was enough to knock Nissan out of the top ten. Nissan ranked sixth just last month.







Canada’s new vehicle market grew 5.2% over the course of the first four months of 2012, however. Passenger cars accounted for 48.4% of all sales. General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler brought in 44.2% of all sales.

Canada Ecommerce Tops $15 billion




Online shoppers in Canada last year spent C$15.30 billion (US$15.02 billion) on  Internet shopping, according to a report from Statistics Canada.The 2010 web spending figures for Canada represent 1.3% increase over the C$15.10 billion (US$14.82 billion) reported for 2009, 

The report was based on data  from 30,700 households and 22,623  consumers.


 Top 10 Insights On Canada Ecommerce
  •  51% of web users in Canada used the Internet to order products or services in 2010.
     
  • In terms of actual numbers Canadian consumers placed 114 million web orders; on average, consumers made 10 web orders during 2010, with an average total order value of $1,362 per consumer.

  • 83% of Shoppers in Canada  placed orders with e-commerce operators

  • 60% of respondents ordered via merchants and  affiliates  providers in the United States, while 18% placed orders with companies located in other countries.

  • 89% of the shoppers used credit cards to pay for online orders, while 31% used an online payment service. Consumers could give more than one answer to these questions.

  • 74%  Internet users in Canada shopped online, or researched information on goods or services, without necessarily placing an order

  • Users who did not shop online, 32% cited lack of interest, 26% said they liked to shop at stores, and 19% worried about online security
