3 riders about AT & T new unlimited data plan

AT&T New unlimited data plan comes at a time when most wireless carriers have either eliminated or raised the price of unlimited data plans. Sprint and T-Mobile, the only two carriers that still offer unlimited data to new customers, have bumped up prices.

"AT&T new unlimited data plan with riders"

AT&T’s unlimited data plan is back, with strings attached. The first rider is  that to  get this unlimited data plan, consumers should also  subscribe to its TV service (only for customers who also subscribe to its DirecTV or U-Verse TV services. Enrollment began Tuesday.)

So does it technically offer unlimited data : Rider 2  .AT &T will only slow the connection for any customer who is in a data-congested area and who in a given month exceeds 22 gigabytes of data. This is equivalent to someone streaming 50 hours of video and 250 hours of music and then spending another 220 hours on the Internet each month.

Rider 3 : How much is the actual cost :The monthly cost for the data is $60, plus $40 for each line. The fourth line is free. This means one line costs $100 a month, two lines are $140, and then three or four lines cost $180. .

Who should go for this plan :This is a pretty good deal for anyone who needs a paid TV service and is a heavy user of wireless data. Specifically, it’s best for individuals who use more than 10GB to 15GB of data per month

"the state of the wearable technology market in 2016"

When it comes to just wearable technology,Its the  smartwatches which rule .Apple leads the race with  the company selling more than 4 million smartwatches in the first 6 months of 2015,compared to Samsung’s 0.4million in the same duration.

Of the 74 percent of online American adults who are likely to purchase health and fitness technology in the next 12 months, one in three (35 percent) plan to buy a smartwatch, according to a report from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). An NPD survey is suggesting that the Apple Watch has pushed watch sales to the lowest point since 2008.

However OEMs  apart from Apple and Samsung are still not able to address this growing market. For example  LG canceled its latest smartwatch model after less than a week on sale, citing hardware problems. And an embattled HTC, still  struggling  and has delayed its release of a planned co-branded fitness band with Under Armour.

" reviewing Dune HD TV101"

Bottomline : The DUNE HDTV 101 is a good player but considering there are  more affordable alternatives in the market, its on the higher price point

Dune HD TV 101 is a compact media player which lacks an internal power supply or a hard disk. What  differentiates it from other media players are that there  are no buttons in the panel .
Similarly it has no direct card slots and single USBs slot at the front .You get an Ethernet port an HDMI output and a 3.5mm composite video and analogue street output

The little wonder box supports all types of video and audio formats. Powered by Sigma Designs 8670/8671 processors and 256 MB  RAM the player is fast and featured loaded . It has a built in bit torrent client for download movies and music . You get a remote control to operate the HF TV101 this is the only interface to the device . However  the remote is rather small , and its cumbersome if you want to handle it for long time ( like typing using the virtual keyboard

This player starts up and accessories media files from connected disk quickly . It also reads UPnP files as well as other shared folders on the network. The picture quality of the high quality Rips was stuning , and the audio quality was pristine .

Jim Lin had leaked the iphone 5Cm before it was  launched in 2013, when he posted the iPhone5 pictures last August at Weibo., (which later went on to be ”  what was the genuine iphone 5 ). So Lin’s leak might  turn out  to be  true this time too.

Why Apple vs Samsung Legal battles are Marketing Gimmicks

26% Apples Components are made by samsung

Apple loses bid for U.S. ban on Samsung smartphone sales | Reuters: “Apples bid for ” stopping Samsung  smartphones from selling in US  got a setback after  A U.S. judge on Thursday rejected Apple’s request for a permanent sales ban in the United States against some older Samsung smartphones, as Apple failed in producing meaningful evidence ( according to the Judge  as  Apples  patented features were a significant enough driver of consumer demand to warrant an injunction.

Apple and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd have been litigating for nearly three years over various smartphone features patented by Apple, such as the use of fingers to pinch and zoom on the screen, as well as design elements such as the phone’s flat, black glass screen.”

Apple and Samsung battles have seen wrangling over patents , for a long time. Ironically this  inspite of the symbiotic relationship the technology companies have .Consider this Apple is one of Samsung’s largest customers, and Samsung is one of Apple’s biggest suppliers. Both of them “ use  Taiwanese Supplier  Foxcon for components” based at plant in Shenzhen, China

The above chart by from iSuppli, shows who makes what inside the iPhone and the cost of the components  . Ironically Samsung turns out to be a particularly important supplier of the iPhone components including the flash memory that holds the phone’s apps, music and operating software; the working memory, or DRAM; and the applications processor that makes the whole thing work. Together these account for 26% of the component cost of an iPhone.

So that brings us to the question .. Are these legal battles based on market realities or Market Gimmick

Samsung Tops as No 1 in Consumer Electronics Share of Online Choice: The Samsung

the making of samsung2.0

samsung ranked first in " Online Share of Voice"

Samsung Drives Market Share by Dominating Share of Choice : Visible Measures: Samsung has been one of the companies that  has ” seen its Smartphone grow exponentially in the last 3 years ..and for a brand that  has been a also ran till 2009 .. to an overnight star in  the highly competitive Consumer Electronics space..is no mean achievement

Consider this, :Last year Samsung launched nearly 40 campaigns and garnered a True Reach of more than 280 million views. The consumer electronics brand that came closest to equaling that view count in 2012 was Google with 250 million views and then Apple with 92 million views. The brand started to show its viral prowess in 2011. That year, Samsung launched more than 20 different branded video campaigns and generated a True Reach® of more than 50.5 million viewers.

To date, in 2013, Samsung has already generated more than 288 million views, as of September. In 2012, when the brand’s Share of Choice peaked, its brand value also increased by 40% to reach $33 billion

Samsung’s Share of Choice trajectory over 2011 to 2013 – it grew and peaked at north of 70% through most of 2012. And even though it has come down since then, Samsung is still the Share of Choice leader among consumer electronics brands.”

Apple first started advertising its products in the late 1970s.

The 1980s was a watershed year for Apple , as Computers slowly started being used by enterprises and this was ” an era in which Steve Jobs” showmanship  came into action , as  the Apple ads were all approved by
These ads were text-heavy and light on images, as were many computer and technology ads from that era.
Apple ads really came into their heyday during the 1990s, with the “Think Different” campaign, which became very popular as they featured a number of famous people.
Here’s a stunning compilation of some of Apple’s most notable advertisements from the 70s until the present day, including a few videos ads
