All around the world, consumers are increasingly using internet to share and make things faster and easier apart from sharing one culture. In an latest Ericsson ConsumerLab survey of 23 countries, it found that  more than three-quarters of consumers browse the internet and half use social media every day



The popularity of  digital streaming overtake broadcast TV among those aged 16-45, with 80 percent in this age group watching streamed video several times a week or more. 77 percent of the total sample population watched broadcast content, compared to 75 percent who favored streaming services, but this is set to change during 2015. The year will be historic, as more people will watch streamed on-demand content than broadcast TV.

A majority of Americans, 55%, say they are spending more than they did last year on groceries, the area in which Americans continually report spending more.

Groceries (55% spending more), utilities (45%) and healthcare (43%) are among  the 3 categories in which the largest percentage of survey respondents have increased their spending compared to a year ago, according to Gallup.
Since last June, the top three categories with the highest percentages of consumers saying they are “spending more” (groceries, utilities and healthcare) have stayed in the top five

Meanwhile, the bottom categories in terms of increased spending are retirement investments (17%), consumer electronics (18%) and travel (19%), suggesting, per Gallup, that “Americans continue to spend more on things they need, but not on things they want.”

How do marketers convince consumers that they indeed have got the best deal .. well its still the old  way of   influencing consumers that matters. WOW word of mouth has the biggest impact  on consumer purchases decisions and  continues to outperform all paid media, finds Deloitte in recently-released survey results [pdf], which show 8 in 10 Americans aged 14+ saying recommendations have a medium (43%) or high (38%) influence on their purchase decisions. But among paid media, TV still commands the broadest degree of influence, cited by almost two-thirds of respondents.

Top 10 Personal care brand ranked by Moms

Based on research by YouGov, personal care brands were the best perceived by mothers, with Dove and Johnson & Johnson taking the top two spots, respectively. A December 2013 study conducted by BabyCenter asked US female internet users ages 18 to 44 who were expectant or had children younger than 9 years old about the characteristics most important in a brand.

Online spending by Consumer Goods and Banking has been increasing steadily over the last 5 years. In terms of advertising Spends in US Canada and Europe, the FMCG ( Consumer Goods and Financial services ) have led from the front as marketing spends across traditional advertsing  Print, Radio and TV have seen drastic cuts,

Comscore, the   In Canada  the FMCG (CPG) segment spent $26.5 million on digital advertising in Canada in 2012, up from $25.1 million in 2011.  Comscore data reveals that  40%  was spent on – was by health,wellness and  and beauty companies40%

Spain leading the smartphone revolution in Europe – Google Mobile Ads Blog


In Europe  33 % of the Spanish population actually has a smartphone (Ipsos GmbH & TNS Infratest)? According to  Research Reports , by 2013, Spanish Internet users from the mobile computer will exceed 2015 and will be made ​​more searches with the smartphone with the PC. The Spanish are also actively using their mobile when searching their neighbourhood; 55 % have looked up directions or used a map and 45 % have performed a local search for a business.

Spain is a pioneer in the use of mobile technologies, since, according to the study, 33% of Spanish Internet browsing through mobile, beating UK (30%), France (27%) and Italy (24%)
