eBooks Marketshare in Europe : 2013 report







According to Digital Agenda Scoreboard 2013, referring to data of IHS ScreenDigest, it is estimated, that the sale of downloadable core PC games will increase to 27,13 million in 2015, up from 2,14 million in 2007.

In contrast, sales of packaged games for personal computers are estimated to reach 35 million in 2015, compared to 69 million physical units sold in 2004.20 a) Number of gamers According to the researches of Newzoo, focusing on 7 EU game markets (UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium)21, 132,200,000 active gamers were counted in 2011. The highest number of active gamers could be found in Germany with an estimated 36 million (up 38,5 million in 2012). It is followed by the UK with 31 million active gamers (up 33,6 million 2012) and France with 24 million (up to 25,3 million in 2012).

Barnes and Noble Launch $249 Tablet,sets The Stage For Tablet War

Barnes & Noble Inc. jumped into the tablet computer market Monday, unveiling a Nook Tablet priced at $249, $50 more than Amazon.com Inc.’s new Kindle Fire but half the price of Apple Inc.’s cheapest iPad.

The Tablet Bandwagon continues  as Barnes & Noble unveiled a $249 Nook Tablet Monday just ahead of the crucial holiday shopping season in a bid for more of the growing markets for e-books and tablet computers.Bookseller Barnes and Noble has revamped its popular 7-inch color e-book reader today. Simply called the Nook Tablet, the new version will sell for $249 starting next week, and features a 1GHz dual-core processor to power playback of HD movies, videos and TV shows. There will be a host of apps and games available at launch as well

The book seller cut the prices on its existing e-readers. The Nook Color is now $199, down from $239, and the Nook Simple Touch black-and-white reader, which has no browser, is now $99, down from $139. The Nook Tablet will be in stores and shipped to customers on Nov. 17. Like the Nook Color, it has a 7-inch color touchscreen.
Unlike Amazon, Barnes & Noble doesn’t offer streaming services, but the Nook includes preloaded apps from Hulu and Netflix Inc. that allow users to subscribe to stream movies and TV shows.
