xiaomi has just set the alarm bells in the mobile industry ringing




 Xiaomi numbers disappointed analysts as  the chinese mobile phone maker ” declared that it had missed its target of “80 to 100 million” mobile devices which it was projected to sell by the end of 2015.
According to a post on Sina Weibo (link in Chinese) from co-founder Lin Bin, the hardware company sold 70 million devices last year of falling markets
This comes amidst the slowdown in china as economies around the world, specially the stock markets took a heavy battering as chinese  debt levels  increased sharply, which has resulted in 2 consecutive weeks of bloodbath in global stock markets
That marks an annual increase of about 16%—a sharp slowdown in growth compared to the year before, when it saw sales jump 226%.

with 1.43 billion smartphone shipments in 2015 IDC predicts slowdown across global markets

Global smartphone market is set to slow down,with china smartphone sales cooling off . However growth will come from the Middle East and Africa, with gains of nearly 50 percent, overtaking other emerging economies such as India and Indonesia

IDC: Smartphone Vendor Market Share 2015, 2014, 2013, and 2012 Chart Global smartphone sales growth will cool to single digits for the first time ever amid a slowdown in China, a new market forecast said Thursday. According to  IDCworldwide smartphone shipments to grow 9.8 percent in 2015 to a total of 1.43 billion units. The forecast  expects slower growth in many Asian markets, Latin America and western Europe

IDC  also predicts that  Android is likely to remain dominant this year with a market share of 81.2%  while Apple captures 15.8 percent of the market. It expects Windows Phone to hold just 2.2 percent of the market and other operating systems 0.8 percent. The cooling is expected to continue through 2019, IDC said.

App Store under siege as developers churn out 40,000 apps per month

Adults 18-24 spend the highest amount of time in Finance content on mobile (73%), and adults over 50 spend the least amount of time (30%). While adults over the age of 50 spend the least amount of time on mobile in finance content, this has grown four percentage points over the past six months.

UK Blackberry Users drops to 700,000, as windows phone grabs 8.5% share

Its been a long time we heard about Blackberry ,While BlackBerry’s market share has been slipping for several years now, eMarketer’s latest figures indicate that  in the  United Kingdom  Blackberry  now has as few as 700,000 users in the UK, with this number expected to fall to 400,000 by 2017. 


Globally as  of June 2014 blackberry sales  was down to 46 million , from 85 million  in  September 2013 . BlackBerry subscribers worldwide has been  dropped steadily and the UK market’s rapid fall will  only serve to  benefit windows phone, which has been picking up marketshare steadily.Windows Phone, meanwhile, has seen its popularity grow  and estimated to have around  3.3 million users in UK as per eMarketer estimates , and a projected market share of 8.5%
