iPhone or iPad Sales : Which Blockbuster impacts Apples Share price the more

The  chart from Bloomberg   shows  the might of the sheer product depth of  Apple as a brand and its power of  creating ambitious products  that has delivered blockbuster hits  

Apple’s iPhone contributes to its biggest revenue stream ever since it was launched in 2007.. the only time , albeit temporary when  ipad sales volume  exceeded iphone was  in july 2012 when Ipad 2 was launched. Meanwhile revenues from its iMac  continued  to be as flat as ever

  • Development of what was to become the iPhone began in 2004, 
  • A group of 1000 apple  staff were ” working on the highly confidential Project” which was code named Project  Purple 
  • Jobs unveiled the iPhone to the public on January 9, 2007, at the Macworld 2007 convention at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
  • The two initial models, a 4 GB model priced at US$ 499 and an 8 GB model at US$ 599, went on sale in the United States on June 29, 2007, at 6:00 pm local time
  • 3 July DVD Jon first cracks activation. People can use the apps on the phone without a subscription
  • 9 July :iPhone Dev Team releases a jailbreak method. The first use of this is ringtones.
  • 20 July :Nightwatch adapts a toolchain to the iPhone. The first apps are compiled

The Apple Stock Price vs Apple Product Launch



Apple’s stock price capped off an impressive run by hitting a 52 week high of $188 a share, though it eventually closed out the trading day at $185 a share. The chart below, courtesy of BusinessInsider,  highlights Apple’s run to 180 over the past 11 or so months, and how varying Apple related events impacted the share price, for better or worse.

Dan Dummer has charted out a great  Post showing Apple Financial performance under Steve Jobs  at  Splatf goes without saying that Steve Jobs’ effect on Apple was profound. You don’t call a guy the best corporate leader in history for nothing. But just how dramatically did Steve turn Apple around in the 14 years after Gil Amelio got the boot?  The chart shows exactly that

With 8,868 Tweets per second ,MTV VMA Tops 2011




1.The record for the highest number of Tweets per second goes to  MTV Video Music Awards, where Beyonce announced her pregnancy. 8868 tweets per second, on August 28.


2. The execution of Troy Davis, convicted of the fatal shooting of a police officer despite no weapon, DNA or footage linking him to the crime. 7671 tweets per second, on September 20.
 




3. The FIFA Women’s World Cup during the final between the US and Japan. 7196 tweets per second on July 17

4. Brazil getting eliminated from the Copa America in the game against Paraguay. 7166 tweets per second, also on July 17
5. Apple CEO Steve Jobs resigns, due to his health at that point very few people knew hedoes not live beyond a few weeks. This event saw 7064 tweets per second on August 25


6.New Year’s Day  in Japan. see 6939 tweets per second on January 1.

7. The UEFA Champions League,  Barcelona  beat Manchester United in the final 3-1. This event sees 6303 tweets per second on on May 28.
8. Steve Jobs’ death,  and  online users taking the online  world to write about his demise as users  pay tributes to the  original tech guru on consumer gadgets .iMac ,Pod ,iPhone and iPad  would not have seen the light of the day without Steve Jobs .  This day sees 6,049 tweets per second on October 6.
