After Apple bought Beats last May for $3 billion it is set to bury and shut down Beats Music at the end of this month so as to transition those users to Apple Music.
Users that are currently subscribed to Beats will see it subscription shutdown by November 30th.With Apple music now available on android Apple is expected to ” concentrate on Apple music as its flagship offering.Apple Music offers a three-month free trial to any newcomers, but after that, it’s $10 a month for individuals and $15 a month for families of up to six people.

If you have both these apps installed in  your android smartphone  and seem to frequently run out of battery , here is whom you can blame. In a recent report on the list of apps causing the highest battery drainage. these 2 stalwarts sit right on the top.  

 A recent report from AVG concludes that The popular music streaming app Spotify  ranks second  and  Facebook number 1 when it come to  battery consumption  and drains out your Android faster than any other app.


Facebook’s constant background notification checks still have the greatest impact on overall Android device performance thereby causing severe battery draining. This comes from the AVG  quarterly Android App Performance report .The report analyzes aggregated, anonymous data from more than 1 million AVG Android app users to discover the top performance-affecting apps worldwide.


However  Venturebeat’s Mark Sullivan  today  just announced that the latest Android  OS M version will  fare better  in terms of controlling their power by putting them off to sleep”

This  chart from statista shows the monthly and daily users of Spotify’s Facebook app usage  since  September 2011 to 2015. 

 As of March 2015 spotify  had 37.61 million monthly active users and 11.18 million daily active users on  Facebook’s platform ( for the month of march). This is in comparison to an average of around 20million monthly  users  who frequent the  music streaming apps at facebook. Spotify has been present at Facebook since  September 2011 and in its first month had seen  more than 3 million users.

Revenue from Online Streaming Music to grow 77% to 108 million Euros

Revenue from music streaming in Germany from 2008 to 2014. In 2012, streaming subscription services and music streaming platforms generated a revenue of 29 million euros. In 2013  this was 61million euros, a growth of 11%. In 2014 ,online music streaming is expected to earn revenue of 108 million euros, which is a growth of 77%
