united kingdom accounts for 7% global vc deals, 70% growth across technology investments

VC INVESTMENT IN  UK  last year reached 3.6 billion euro  with  UK and Ireland accounting for 7% of global VC deals  in 2015. The UK tech sector received 70 per cent more funding from VCs last year, compared with 2014, with start-ups gaining just $2.1bn in 2014,according to research
based on the data from  CB Insights and London & Partners,

 However this number pales into insignificance when compared to VC investment and start up growth in US and silicon valley  miles According to the US National Venture Capital Association, $35.7bn was invested in tech companies by US venture funds in 2014 alone.

However UK has traditionally seen increasing VC funding across  financial  technology  start ups. In 2015 Britain’s financial technology( fintech)  investments has  seen significant upside  with several

Snapchat as of 2015, December 31st has made 4 Acquisitions with a  Total Equity Funding $1.17B in 7 Rounds from 16 Investors.Snapchat serves transient display ads to over 100 million daily active users on its platform,  for 10 seconds ( for the time range users can keep their recordings) after which the next sets of online ads are shown . Every ad disappear within 10 seconds, followed up the other set.Snapchat has succeeded in disruption the traditional CPC and CPM online ad models.

Trends in VC investment across the Healthcare sector



Healthcare costs in the U.S. have gone up over 130% in the last decade, and healthcare is currently 18% of the GDP.

In 2014, Venture Capital Investments in Healthcare Services was 360M US dollars. PE  and VC funding over the last 5 years for Healthcare  has been on an downward trajectory over the last 4  years now.However There have been more than 400 healthcare deals in the first half of 2015, and the year is on track for a five-year high in funding.

 After 2000 .when the healthcare sector VC funding’s were at its peak at 3 billion, the next  biggest peak came in 2010-2011 where more than 1.5 billion ISD was pumped across different  healthcare verticals during the 2 years. At its most recent reporting value (December 31, 2014), the series was sitting down 36.92% from 2010. Over that span, it hit its minimum value on December 31, 2013 at 211M US dollars.

In 2014, heath insurance companies   also raised $308 million across 32 venture rounds, according to CrunchBase data — a 250% increase from the $88 million raised in 2013 and a 556% increase from 2012’s tota

London’s Startups Hit A High Of $682M In VC Funding In Q1 2015.
According to  Techcrunch

 London chalked up a record $682.5 million of investment in the first three months of this year, a rise of 66 percent on a year ago and busting through the previous record of $411.62 million, set in Q4 of last year in 2014

 At the current rate, investments in London startups are on track to break past $2 billion this year. The figures, tracked by London & Partners shows that $682.5 million makes up 80 percent of all VC investment in the U.K. for Q1 ($856.7 million).
