The first quarter of 2016 saw $1.4 billion in venture capital funding and the most merger and acquisitions transactions in a single quarter to date. The biggest VC investment in 2016 , has been so far   on  Healthcare wearables and technology vertical .According to  Mercom capital   the first 6 months  in 2016  has seen  VC’s  landing up with war chests  of $260million  to lap up   the most promising investments across wearables technology

The growth of wearables  started gaining traction since 2009  as funding to wearables startups surpassed $2.2B across the past five years, accrued over 195 deals.

Jawbone, at $614M raised, is the most well-funded private wearables company. amongAmong i (Jawbone took on $300M in debt financing in April 2015).Andreessen Horowitz, Atomico Black Rock, Deutsche Telekom Strategic Investments ,Firsthand Technology Value Fund   are among  those who have invested in jawbone



The most active VC   money that has been chasing the wearables sector   happens to  be  Andreessen Horowitz and Khosla Ventures.Among the biggest VC funding  across wearable technology  was  last years  $542M Series B raised by Magic Leap, Florida-based developer of head-mounted augmented reality displays. Magic Leap raised capital in that round from a wide range of investors including smart money VCs Andreessen Horowitz and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.

A recent report by Slice Intelligence show declining  Apple watch  sales , with its “online sales” slowing  down considerably.During the last 2 months  the company has seen sales plummet by 90% since the opening week. However this data might not reflect the absolute truth  as Slice bases its research on electronic receipts sent to millions of email addresses following purchases, estimates that Apple has been selling fewer than 20,000 watches a day in the U.S. since the initial surge  when the apple watch  started selling in April,


Apparently apple watch  has seen its sales dipping to as low as 5,000 units on some days in june . In US its sales stood at 2.79 million units in mid-June, about two months post launch.However according to experts at about


However  this data has its share of detracters as Apples sales numbers are taken from an e receipt which is gleaned  by a sample of consumers who volunteer to share their purchasing information. So how many apple watches was finally sold ?data from slice Intelligence estimates that 957,000 people in the U.S. pre-ordered an Apple  on the 1st day it went for sale, 
On an  average  around  1.3 watches were ordered with spends of  $503.83 per watch. Those ordering an Apple Watch Sport spent $382.83 per watch and those ordering the Apple Watch spent $707.04.

Interestingly  those who bough the apple watch  72% purchased an Apple product in the past two years (iPhone, Mac or iPad), and 21% pre-ordered an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus mere months ago

62%  purchased the less-expensive Sport model. However, many Apple Watch buyers invested in the pricier case but the cheapest band, with more than one third adding a black or white Sport band

Apple on track to ship 20million iwatch ,analysts predicts higher sales than ipad

Morgan Stanley’s projection  expects iwatch to do more than  250million  shipments after  9 quarters. Each  apple product has sold faster than the product that came before it. Morgan Stanley thinks that the iWatch will sell faster than the iPad.
Apple’s first wearable gadget went on sale on Friday and for a change unlike any Apple product launch.. there was no  huge lines outside apple stores across Apple Europe and US. The Geographical Hubs for Smart Watch Manufacturing : China, Japan and Taiwan control 40% of the Market

Though smart watches might be a recent phenomenon.. the idea was not. The idea of smart watches manufacturing hubs has been doing brisk business across Mainland China and Taiwan for quite some time now . While  the digital  wearable market is yet  to take shape Major consumer elctronic brands like LG/Samsung/Sony have been working on related technology and fine tunings its manufacturing processes  to meet the ” unprecedented demand” in wearable devices  this year
